Nine persons of two houses have been brutally murdered in Panchthar district Monday midnight.
A masked man murdered nine persons in the houses of father-in-law and son-in-law in Miklajung rural municipality 3 Monday midnight.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has sent a team led by SP Uma Prasad Chaturvedi for investigation.
Sita Khajum 12, who saved herself by running away, said the masked man killed members of the two families with sharp weapons. She received primary treatment at the local health center.
Dhan Raj Sherma, 41, and his father-in-law Bam Bahadur Fiyak, 74, were both murdered. Jasmita Fiyak, 36, Man Kumari Fiyak, 26, Iksa Sherma, six, Yovana Sherma, 12, Muna Sherma, eight, Pursi Maya Fiyak—Bam Bahadur's wife, and Aashika Khajum Limbu were also killed.
"We have moved from district headquarters after asking for sealing of the spot," DSP in Panchthar Narendra Kunwar told Setopati.
The place is around 65 kilometers to the south from district headquarters Phidim by road.
The bodies were scattered inside and outside the two houses, according to the police.
