A newly constructed suspension bridge at Byas rural municipality in Darchula district has made movement of the people of the village and neighboring villages easier and relieved them of crossing the Mahakali river through a risky tuin (rope bridge). They have been benefited in a number of ways.
The people of the area supply agricultural products to the market and import goods and other essentials from Khalanga and the neighboring Indian market.
"Villagers sell corn in the market, and purchase rice from the Indian market. The bridge has helped us a lot," said Nanda Kunwar of the rural municipality-5.
'Twin' is very much risky way of transportation. In the past, some people have lost their lives while crossing the river, said the locals.
