A total of 101 people with physical disabilities received services from a free health-camp held at the Mellekh rural municipality-3 in Achham. Of them, seven underwent minor operations while 16 were recommended for surgery.
Two were provided with assisting materials and wheel chairs. Four are in process of receiving supporting materials. The camp was organized by the Mellekh rural municipality with support of a local club and the Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children, Kavrepalanchwok.
On the same occasion, the rural municipality had provided disabled identity cards to 23 people. The camp had covered the distribution of free medicines and availability physiotherapy facilities as well.
Mellekh rural municipality health section chief Hikmat Budha said the local government felt proud that it could arrange such type of camp for the disabled while rural municipality chair Lok Bahadur Bohara pledged to come up with more programs aim to encouraging the disabled in the future.
