Dudilabhati in darkness for the past five days

Power supply has been obstructed at Dudilabhati of Galkot municipality after flood triggered by heavy rainfall on April 14 damaged two micro hydropower projects. Ward chair of Galkot municipality-1 Netra Bahadur Budhathoki said that the flood in Gaudi rivulet has damaged 15-KW Gaudikhola-IV Micro Hydropower Project and 21-KW Gaudikhola- III Hydropower Project. Out of four hydropower projects operated at Dudilabhati, two hydropower projects suffered big damage while the remaining projects incurred partial damages. Budhathoki said that Gaudikhola I and II hydropower projects have been brought into operation after maintenance. He added, "Three hundred households are without electricity for the past five days. We have started carrying out repair and maintenance of the projects." A local Sumitra Karki said that some parts of the Gaudikhola III power house were swept away by flood while power house of Gaudikhola II project was covered by debris.
