Two people were killed when a truck carrying books of Janak Education Material Center overturned on a mobile van at Sanepa on Friday afternoon.
40-year-old Indra Bahadur Sunar of Thulo Patal and Dolma Sherpa of Dhanusha, who were traveling in the van, were killed in the accident.
The over speeding truck heading towards Balkhu from Satdobato met with an accident with mobile van (Ba 7 Cha 2131) at Nayabato while trying to avoid crash with a scooter coming from opposite direction.
According to police inspector Ramesh Silwal, Smriti Magar, 18, of Bhaisepati was injured in the accident.
"An eyewitness said that truck went uncontrolled when it tried to escape accident with the scooter. We've detained truck driver to investigate into the case," Silwal said. The eyewitness said that the scooter rider was unhurt in the incident.
"Two people died on the spot when we reached at the accident site. We rescued one by smashing the windshield," one eyewitness Ram Bishwas Raut said, "We've sent the injured passenger to hospital for treatment."
