The police have made six persons including two police constables involved in leakage of question papers for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in Province 2.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and Saptari Police jointly organized a press conference on Thursday to make the sextet public. Police constables from Area Police Office, Kalyanpur in Siraha Brahma Dev Sunrait--who was also appearing for the examinations--and Dipendra Kumar Mandal, Bishnu Dev Yadav, Manoj Yadav, Rajesh Yadav and Umesh Yadav were made public during the press conference.
SEE examinations in Province 2 were cancelled after the question papers of two subjects--science and social studies--were leaked on March 28 and 29 respectively. The CIB investigated the episode and arrested the six persons including the constable duo.
The six accused has been kept in custody of the District Police Office in Saptari for investigation, according to CIB Chief Niraj Bahadur Shahi. He claimed that the question papers were leaked by constable Sunrait who sent the photographs to Bishnu Dev Yadav.
Cases including theft and Education Act will be attracted against the six, according to the police. "We are consulting with the government attorneys. We will decide which cases to lodge after consultations," Shahi said.
