A blood donation program has been organized here by the Nepal Manab Dharma Sewa Samiti to supply blood to those receiving treatment at various hospitals after being injured in the violent storm that hit various parts of Bara and Parsa districts on Sunday evening, considering the shortage of blood for the injured.
The death toll from the Sunday's twister has reached 29 in both districts. Hundreds of people are injured.
"We have organized an emergency blood donation program to address the scarcity of blood to the injured," said Santamahatma Chameli Bai, center chief of the committee.
The committee organized various blood donation programs previously. For an instance on an occasion, it collected around 1,000 pints of blood on a single day.
