Orthopedic surgeon at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Dr Govinda KC has reached Puraniya of Pheta rural municipality in Bara district that was devastated by the storm Sunday night.
Dr KC, who has reached with clothes and medicines, will also conduct a health camp there. Dr KC left for Bara alone boarding a night bus Monday.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr KC is ideally suited for treatment as people injured in such disasters mostly have injuries related to bones.
"Local health workers are also working along with me," Dr KC told Setopati. "I will run a health camp here."
Dr KC has reached Bara for treatment of the victims carrying medicines and relief materials bought with his personal expenses.
A total of 27 persons were killed and hundreds injured in Bara and Parsa districts due to the storm Sunday night. The injured persons are being treated in different hospitals of the two districts while a few have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.
