Originality country's asset: Ex-President Yadav

Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said the originality of the country is the medium to make the country known to world. "Civilization also shows how old the country is," he said at a program here Sunday. At the program organized to confer Natyashwor Award 2075, the former President Dr Yadav viewed that Nepal has both the Aryan and Mongol civilizations. "We've not forgotten but cherished the originality begun from Vedic period," he reminded, adding that Nepali art, culture and civilization have earned global popularity. According to him, diversity is fostered by various ethnicity and lingual communities in the country. "It's our duty to protect and promote our art and culture," he underscored. The Natyashwor Award was conferred on senior actor Basundhara Bhushal, while Natyashwor Ratna Award on Chaityadevi. Similarly, singers on various categories were awarded on the occasion.
