Elderly couple found dead

An elderly couple has been found dead at Kharchuhiya of Khadak Municipality-5 in the district on Tuesday. The couple--Saburi Sah, 70, and his wife Bechani Devi, 65— is suspected to have been murdered as their body parts have been charred, and the room and the courtyard of the house bloodstained, according to preliminary police investigation. A sniffer dog was also deployed from the eastern regional police boarding high school, Dharan in the incident site. The villagers found the couple charred to death when they were not seen outside even until 8 am in that fateful morning. Shortly after, they reported the incident to the police. The deceased couple was financially well and was living in the house alone. Their elderly son's family are living in Udayapur and younger's family in Dharan. Further investigation is underway, said Superintendent of Police Rajendra Bista.
