President Bidya Devi Bhandari attended the Basanta Shrawan ritual on the occasion of Basanta Panchami at Nasal Chowk in Hanumandhoka durbar premises this morning.
The Basanta Shrawan ritual took place at the auspicious hour of 8:24 am.
On the occasion, President Bhandari also received tika, garland and prasad from the main priest of Hanumandhoka Durbar caretaker office Dev Raj Aryal.
Marking the function, a contingent of the Nepal Army presented a guard of honour while also playing the Mangal Dhun.
Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Chief Justice Cholendra Sumsher Rana also attended the Basanta Shrawan ritual and received tika, garland and Prasad on the occasion.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Minister for Women, Children and Elderly Citizens Thammaya Thapa, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari, Chief of the Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa, the Head of Nepal Police and Armed Police, the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolis, among others were also present on the occasion.
