The construction of a drinking water project has begun at Thaha municipality-10 in Hetauda.
The project of Rs 25.6 million is supported by the Community Development Center, Nepal and its objective is to address the problem of drinking water facing the people of Thaha municipality-10, said center coordinator Santosh Dhakal.
Under the project, a water reserve tank will be constructed along with the installations of 688 water taps.
The local government has agreed to bear 10 percent of the construction cost and as per the agreement; the ward office has already allocated Rs 1.5 million to the project. Natural water resources in the locality have started drying since the 2015 April earthquake, said ward chair Hira Bahadur Gamal.
