Dolpa district hospital lacks free-distributed medicines

Dolpa district hospital is struggling without medicines provided to patients for free. The government provides 70 types of medicines for free through respective government hospitals. Yee Gurung of Thulobheri Municipality-6 was returned empty-handed without medicines when he recently visited the hospital for a headache treatment. "The hospital sent me empty handed. I was short of money to purchase medicines from a private pharmacy. I however purchased medicines after borrowing money from my relative," he said. The hospital lacks the free-distributed medicines for the past three weeks, but authorities are least concerned. The hospital lacks coordination from the municipality to supply the medicines, said a hospital employee.
