Cloudy conditions prevail across the country including in the Kathmandu Valley Thursday.
Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said the weather became cloudy due to the influence of the westerly wind. She said the chances were that weather will not be fully clear throughout the country in the coming few days.
The minimum temperature in the Valley was 3.2 degrees Celsius today. It was 2.9 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
Kandel explained that the minimum temperature has not dipped as the cloudy skies during night prevent the heat from escaping from the earth surface. According to her, the minimum temperature decreases if the sky is clear at night.
“There is possibility of decrease in temperature as we are still into the third week of January,” she said.
There is possibility of light rain in one or two places of the central and western regions of the country. The Meteorological Forecasting Division said cloudy conditions will prevail throughout the country during the night with possibility of light to moderate rain in most places.
Light snowfall is expected in one or two places of the high mountainous region. The weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly region and generally clear in the rest of the country on Friday. On Saturday, light snowfall will take place in some places of high mountainous region and light rainfall in one or two places of the eastern hilly region.
