The foundation stone has been laid for construction of a terminal building at a bus park at Karangkath of Byas Municipality-1 in Tanahu district Tuesday.
The Department of Urban Development and Building Construction will build the terminal building at the cost of over Rs 30 million to streamline the both long and short distance vehicles, according to Byas Municipality Mayor, Baikunthanath Neupane.
Kanchanram Construction Pvt Ltd has been awarded contract for the construction of the terminal building within 18 months. Engineer of the Construction Company, Subarna Shrestha, shared that the terminal building would be two-storied and could accommodate as many as 46 buses.
Altogether 11 stalls and a footpath will be built in the premises of terminal building.
Mayor Neupane expressed his confidence that the terminal building would facilitate both the transport entrepreneurs and passengers in availing transport facility.
