Motorcycle fatally knocks down octogenarian

A senior citizen was killed after a motorcycle hit him at Phakphokthum Rural Municipality-4 in Ilam district last night. Police said that 83-year-old Birkha Bahadur Lakandri of Amchowk village from the same rural municipality died after the motorcycle (Ko 1 Pa 3339) knocked him down. Seriously injured in the incident, Lakandri died on the way to B and C Hospital in Birtamod, Jhapa, Sub-Inspector of Amchowk Police Post Bhupendra Dhungana said. Meanwhile, police have impounded the motorcycle and arrested motorcyclist Basanta Magar for further investigations.
