The government is mulling to construct tunnel to reduce the traffic congestion in Koteshwore.
"A Japanese team will start study for the tunnel way to decide the length of the tunnel," Chief of the Development Assistance Division of the Department of Roads Sanjay Kumar Shrestha said.
The tunnel will likely be built in a way that one can get out at either Tinkune or Balkumari after entering it at Jadibuti but it has yet to be confirmed.
"We are also building temporary structures to reduce traffic congestion at Koteshwore for now," he added. He revealed that a temporary bridge will be built over Manohara river at Jadibuti and a separate service track for motorcycles will also be built. "We will complete those structures within six weeks."
