As many as 1.1 million people- both foreigners and Nepalis- have visited Lumbini in 10 months.
The Lumbini Development Trust informed that number of domestic visitors rose significantly. The birthplace of Gautam Buddha witnessed more than 800,000 domestic visitors.
Similarly, over 100,000 Indian people visited Lumbini.
After India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand top the people visiting Lumbini.
Vice Chair of Trust, Avadesh Tripathi shared that special attention was paid to construct physical infrastructures in Lumbini.
He also said the number of tourists from China was also growing. Till August, 10,577 tourists from China visited this year.
