Medical education campaigner Dr Govinda KC, who was hospitalized with complaints of chest pain on Monday, has been discharged on Wednesday.
He was admitted at the emergency ward of Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center inside the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) premises Monday morning and later shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) there.
He has been discharged after improvement in his health following two days of treatment.
Orthopedic surgeon at the TUTH Dr KC, who has staged fast-unto-death for 15 times, has developed heart problems after continuing long hunger strikes on multiple occasions. He could not sleep for the past few days and was taken to the hospital after acute chest pain on Monday.
Dr KC had warned the government of another fast-unto-death for not tabling the medical education bill in the parliament a few days back.
