Medical education campaigner Dr Govinda KC has been hospitalized with complaints of chest pain on Monday.
He has been admitted at the emergency ward of Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center inside the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) premises Monday morning after chest pain increased.
Orthopedic surgeon at the TUTH Dr KC, who has staged fast-unto-death for 15 times, was hospitalized at around four Monday morning, according to his associate Dr Abhishek Raj Singh.
He has developed heart problems after continuing long hunger strikes on multiple occasions. "He could not sleep for the past few days. He has been admitted after acute chest pain today," Dr Singh said. "We have conducted blood and other tests and are awaiting the reports."
Dr KC had warned the government of another fast-unto-death for not tabling the medical education bill in the parliament a few days back.
