Journalist survives acid attack

A woman on Tuesday attacked Dhiraj Daruka, the publisher and editor of the Bypass daily published from Birgunj with acid. Manita Singh, who was residing in a rented house in Birgunj Metropolitan City-10, attacked Daruka with acid when the latter was standing in front of his house, Superintendent of Police in the district Rewati Dhakal said. Police said that Daruka has returned home following a normal medical treatment at Narayani sub-regional hospital, Birgunj. Police have held alleged Singh in the custody.
