Man falls to death off cliff in Gorkha

A person has died after falling off a cliff at Barpark of Barpark rural municipality-2 in Gorkha district on Sunday. Jit Bahadur Ghale, 59, fell to his death while he was harvesting wild bees honey from Kummyaha Cliff in the locality, local Nabin Ghale quoted the deceased's son Girja Ghale as saying. Nabin shared, "The deceased's son was also accompanying his father to collect the honey. Girja informed the fellow villagers when his father succumbed to the fatal fall and we began to search for Jit Bahadur." He added that they found Jit Bahadur dead after an intensive search of three-four hours at the cliff that lies one and a half kilo meters away from Barpark. Jit Bahadur was found fallen some five meters below the cliff and his body was discovered in disintegrated condition, locals said. Although the Kumyaha Cliff is very steep and dangerous, the locals here do take up a death-defying climb to gather honey for subsistence.
