Two local wards in Tilagupha Municipality of Kalikot district have fulfilled the child-friendly local governance indicators.
Tilagupha Municipality Ward No. 1 and 3 have met the 28 various indicators that make the local government fit for a ‘child-friendly local governance’ status.
These indicators have been specified in the Child-friendly Local Governance National Strategy-2068 BS.
Municipality mayor Ratan Bahadur Shahi said that a local level ward is declared as ‘Ward with child-friendly local governance’ when it meets the 28 indicators stipulated in the national strategy and the 12 and the 16 institutional steps.
The indicators relating to children’s participation, child development, child protection and others have been achieved with the facilitation of Save the Children and KIRDARC Kalikot, chairperson of the District Child Development Board Lal Bahadur Malla said.
Ward No. 2 and 4 of the municipality have already been declared the ward meeting the child-friendly local governance indicators before this.
