A regional meeting with an objective of facilitating in fulfilling the goals of reproductive health and family planning has begun here Monday.
Experts working in the government and non-government sectors of 13 different countries including Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka have been participating in the four-day meeting.
Ministry of Health and Population and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have jointly organized the meeting. The meeting would review whether or not the commitments made in the conference related to family planning held in London in 2012 were fulfilled.
The constitution has guaranteed family planning service as the fundamental rights.
Secretary at the Health and Population Ministry Dr Pushpa Chaudhary, and Chief at Family Health Division Dr RP Bichchha said that the government has given high priority to reach family planning services among all the people.
