Green campaign starts in Province 2

The green campaign has started in all eight districts of Province 2. The campaign which is under the government's policies and programs includes programs including green town, green village, green roads, green ponds, green temples, green canals and green rivers. As part of the drive that aims to control increasing deforestation and climate change in the province, 50,000 tree saplings were planted across one hectares of land each in the eight districts, and irrigation arrangement has been made, said a campaigner. Likewise, a nursery under respective division forest office will provide tree saplings for free to local people. The drive is also expected to help the ‘Chief Minister Clean Campaign’.
