One dead, four injured in Jhapa jeep accident

A person was killed and four others were severely injured in a jeep accident that took place early Monday morning at Jhiljhile of Jhapa along the East-West Highway. The District Traffic Police Office, Jhapa confirmed the death of Sandip Karki, 29, of Udayapur in the accident occurred at 3 am. According to the office, a Scorpio jeep (Me 1 Ja 4533) en route to east from west overturned on the road as driver lost control over the vehicle all of a sudden, leaving five passengers including Karki critically injured. All of them were rushed to the Birtamod-based B&C Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The injured are Raju Basnet and Gopa Poudel of Kakarvitta, Gyan Bahadur Budathoki of Mechinagar-10 and Gopi Gajurel of Kamal rural municipality-7.-
