Police have evacuated five houses under high risk of landslides in Tarakeshwore municipality on Friday.
DSP at the Balaju Police Circle Chiranjeevi Koirala said house of Mira Acharya, Madan Kumar Shrestha, Renuka Dawadi, Lali Maya Sunuwar and Gopi Bishwokarma in Tarakeshwore-9, Dandagaun Manamaiju have been evacuated after landslides started following rainfall Thursday night.
Houses of Acharya, Shrestha and Dawadi are under the highest risk, according to police.
All those remaining there including those staying on rent have been shifted to safe place. "Ward office and Nepal Red Cross Society have made arrangements of tarpaulins and blankets for the evacuated persons. But the evacuees have made their own arrangements," DSP Koirala told Setopati.
The administration has asked all the locals in the ward to remain alert as rainfall continued even on Friday. Koirala said most of the areas in the ward are under risk of landslides.
