The ex-Police Family Forum has aided Rs 250,000 to a group of students with spinal cord paralysis.
The support was provided to encourage the students with spinal paralysis to arrange a self-reliant life and operate a friendly residence for them.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sarbendra Khanal, Deputy Mayor of Gokarneswor municipality Shanti Nepal and Forum's Advisor Shivajee Shrestha jointly handed over the amount to Vice-chairperson of Group Baburam Mishra.
On the occasion, IGP Khanal expressed hope that the assistance amount will help the students with spinal cord paralysis learn about independent life style and run a residence for them.
He also pledged to increase the support volume in coming days.
Deputy Mayor Nepal also promised to provide support from municipality to the students living a complicated life due to intellectual, physical and spinal paralysis.
Likewise, Forum's Advisor Shrestha said the support has inspired students with spinal paralysis to make their future brighter.
Established in 2016 AD, the group has been executing several programs on promoting self-reliant life style for children with spinal paralysis, operation of residential hostel and creating awareness on the rights and entitlements of disabilities.
There are 11 students with spinal cord paralysis in the group.
