The trade unions of the country have called for the government and employers for the implementation of the work force Contribution-based Social Security Act.
At a joint press conference, General Federation of Nepalese Trade Union, Nepal Trade Union Federation and Nepal Trade Union Congress have pledged to discharge any role and responsibilities in view of the enforcement of the Act.
The trade union leaders had also stressed on the need to carry out necessary certification and registration of workers at local level, monitoring of workers' wage and security, regulation of labor administration and exercise of social dialogue which are required for the implementation of Social Security Act and Labor Act.
Trade union leaders including Pushkar Acharya, Ganesh Regmi and Kamal Gautam urged the government to arrange remuneration required for eking out livelihood and join hands with trade unions for labor literacy.
