Chief Minister of Province No. 2 Lalbabu Raut has said that the provincial government has been preparing to formulate an integrated policy for disaster management.
Chief Minister Raut said so at a seminar 'Province-level Disaster Resilience Plan' organized by Nepal Red Cross Society, Dhanusha, Monday. Saying that actions in disaster management were not launched effectively for lack of the integrated plan, he expressed the belief that disaster management would be effective after the formulation of the integrated plan.
The Chief Minister also argued that failure to implement the existing laws into practice itself was a major weakness of the bodies concerned and termed the relief distribution measures as unsatisfactory.
Similarly, Minister for Physical Infrastructure of the Province No. 2 Jitendra Kumar Sonal, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Gyanendra Yadav, former lawmaker Dr. Bijay Kumar Singh among others pointed out the need for a collective effort in disaster management task.
