Parents of Gopal Tamang and Ajay Tamang who were killed by the police on Monday after they allegedly killed abducted Nishan Khadka have complained at the National Human Rights Commission on Wednesday accusing the police of extra-judicial killing.
The parents reached the NHRC office at Pulchowk demanding investigation of the incident claiming that the police killed the two instead of punishing them if they had done anything wrong.
Twelve relatives including parents of the two reached the office to lodge the complaint.
The NHRC formed a special team to probe the incident. "The complaint has entered the process of NHRC. We have formed a special team. The team will investigate," NHRC Member Prakash Wasti told Setopati.
Eleven-year-old Nishan Khadka was abducted from Kandaghari Sunday afternoon.
The boy was murdered and his body was found in the foundation of an under-construction house in Bhaktapur Sunday night itself.
Alleged abductors Ajay Tamang, 23, of Karthali Sindhupalchowk, and Gopal Tamang, 22, of Samari Nuwakot were killed in 'police operation' on Monday.
While some have praised the police for killing the alleged abductors, questions have been raised about the police's failure to rescue the boy and whether the killing was extra-judicial.
