Bolbam devotees reach Sundarijal to fetch holy water

Bolbam pilgrims, wearing saffron dresses and on bare feet, have reached Sundarijal for collecting sacred water for worshiping shivalayas including the Pashupatinath Temple. They throng various shivalayas and temples of Hindu God Shiva across the country. Devotees mainly throng Shiva temples on Mondays of Shrawan month every year with a belief that offering sacred water to Shiva on the days washes away sins. The third Monday of Shrawan is considered significant for devotees taking part in Bolbam yatra. Devotees including children, youths and even elderly people take part in Bolbam yatra.
