The police have killed two alleged abductors in an operation Monday afternoon after the body of eleven-year-old boy abducted from Kandaghari on Sunday evening was recovered.
SSP at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division Dhiraj Pratap Singh said the police team mobilized in search of abducted Nishan Khadka found the boy's body in Doleshwore area of Bhaktapur. The boy was murdered, according to the police.
Khadka originally from Sindhupalchowk and currently living at Kandaghari was abducted Sunday evening. The sixth-grader at Highland School in Kandaghari had gone missing since 6:30 in the evening. The abductors called Nishan's mother Chameli at 9:30 in the night and demanded Rs 4 million in ransom.
The police recovered Nishan's body from an under-construction house in Bhaktapur Thimi 9 at 12:30 Monday afternoon. The police received information that the abductors fled toward the forest on the way to Pilot Baba's retreat.
SSP Singh claimed that the abductors opened fire on the police team that was looking for them. He added that the duo was killed when the police fired back in self defense. The deceased have been identified as Ajay Tamang, 23, of Sindhupalchowk, and Gopal Tamang, 22, of Nuwakot.
The police have recovered one pistol, two rounds of bullets and the sim card used to demand ransom from the scene.
