The government on Wednesday has revoked the affiliation given to eight private colleges by the Agriculture and Forestry University, Chitwan.
Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Khaga Raj Baral informed that the meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to revoke the affiliation granted to eight private colleges.
The Cabinet meeting held last Monday also directed all universities to halt the procedures of granting affiliation to colleges until further decision.
The government clarified that the affiliation granted to the private colleges was also revoked not to affect the works of categorization of the university and high-level education commission. Secretary Baral further said the provision of affiliation to private colleges was also annulled immediately to formulate new education policies.
The government has been doing internal homework for proper management of colleges in all provinces on the basis of population. Secretary Baral also informed that the high-level national education commission has also started to formulate new education policies as per the need of the nation.
