The CPN (Unified Socialist) and the CPN Ekata Rastriya Abhiyan, led by Bamdev Gautam, have reached an agreement to unify the two parties.
Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and Gautam signed the unity agreement between the two parties on Friday.
Gangalal Tuladhar, vice-chairman of the Unified Socialist, said that the two leaders signed the agreement at the party's central office in Aloknagar, Kathmandu.
"An agreement to unify the parties has been signed today. We’ll continue discussions on other issues," Tuladhar told Setopati.
The two parties have agreed to officially announce the unification on July 18.
"Discussions between Chairman Comrade Madhav Kumar Nepal of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Chairman Comrade Bamdev Gautam of the CPN Ekata Rastriya Abhiyan have concluded that there is alignment in political philosophy, principles, programs, strategies, and policies. Considering the historical necessity of uniting Nepal's communist movement, an agreement has been reached for the merger of the CPN Ekata Rastriya Abhiyan with the CPN (Unified Socialist). Also, it has been agreed to announce the unification by organizing a grand event at the Rastriya Sabha Griha on July 18, 2025," the letter signed by the two leaders stated.
