The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against six individuals, including Sunil Paudel, the then executive director of the National Information Technology Center (NITC).
The CIAA filed the case against Paudel and five others at the Special Court on Friday, accusing them of illicit gains.
They are accused of committing corruption amounting to Rs 150 million by supplying storage with substandard processor and submitting false documents.
According to CIAA spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Paudel, the case has been filed against Paudel, the then director of the NITC Saphal Shrestha, assistant director Ramesh Pokharel, computer engineer Ramsharan Gayak, accounts officer Nim Bahadur Oli, World Distribution Nepal Pvt. Ltd. located at Kantipath, Kathmandu, and the company’s chairman and managing director Arun Shrestha.
The CIAA has sought Rs 158.85 million in damages from them.
