CIB to investigate Kanchanpur rape case

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has launched an investigation into the rape and murder of a teenager in Bhimdutta municipality of Kanchanpur. CIB Chief DIG Narayan Singh Khadka informed that a three-member CIB team under DSP Angur GC left for Kanchanpur on Monday to coordinate with the local police in the investigation. Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased Nirmala Panta of Bhimdutta-3 received the body on Monday. Earlier, the locals in Bhimdutta refused to receive the body demanding strict action against the perpetrators and also compensation to the bereaved family. The body of the 13-year-old was found at a sugarcane field on Friday. The lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday demanded stringent action against the guilty.
