Police shoot to arrest alleged criminal Lama

The police have opened fire to arrest one Ashok Lama who has been allegedly involved in criminal activities in Lalitpur. Metropolitan Police Commissioner DIG Manoj Neupane said Lama was shot at the UN Park in Lalitpur by a Metropolitan Police Crime Division team deployed to arrest him following complaints of extortion by businessmen. He has been hit in the right thigh. He is receiving treatment for his injury at Bir Hospital. SSP at the Crime Division Dheeraj Pratap Singh said a pistol with two rounds of bullets has been recovered while arresting Lama.
