The Nepal Academy and Pakistan Academy of Letters have agreed to work together in the field of literature and arts.
The MoU signing ceremony to this effect was held between these two institutions in the capital today. It is expected that the agreement will further enhance people-to-people relations through the development of arts and literatures of Nepal and Pakistan.
The Academy chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti and Director General of Pakistan Academy of Letters Dr Rashid Hammed who is also the head of the delegation inked the MoU.
With the agreements, literary exchanges programs would be conducted in both countries following the municipal and international laws.
Pakistani delegation chief Hammed said that the agreement will extend the relations among the writers of both countries.
Pakistani ambassador to Nepal Mazhar Javed said that the Nepal-Pakistan bilateral relations was age old adding that Pakistan was ready to support Nepali researchers for various research projects that benefit both countries' culture, literature and history.
Nepal Academy chancellor Upreti said that the NA was working for the promotion of Nepali literature, culture and music.
