Deputy mayor returns home after settlement with husband charged of beating her

Deputy Mayor of Godavari municipality in Lalitpur Muna Adhikari has returned home together with her husband, who was arrested on charge of beating her, after a settlement. A team of Satdobato Police Circle arrested Dhruva Kunwar from their home in Taukhel after Adhikari called 100, the police hotline, at 10:30 Tuesday night seeking help. Kunwar was kept at the Satdobato Police Circle overnight. Kunwar was then taken to the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel after Adhikari went to the Satdobato Police Circle Wednesday morning and stated she would go to the higher authorities for justice. Spokesperson at Lalitpur Police Narendra Chand told Setopati that the Adhikari couple returned home together after settlement. The couple reached settlement after discussion at the Women and Children Cell of the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel where Adhikari, who was elected on a Nepali Congress ticket, had lodged the complaint.
