Husband of deputy mayor arrested on charge of beating her

Husband of Deputy Mayor of Godavari municipality in Lalitpur Muna Adhikari has been arrested on charge of beating her. A team of Satdobato Police Circle arrested Dhruva Kunwar from their home in Taukhel after Adhikari called 100, the police hotline, at 10:30 Tuesday night seeking help. Kunwar was kept at the Satdobato Police Circle overnight. Kunwar is now at the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel after Adhikari went to the Satdobato Police Circle Wednesday morning and stated she would go to the higher authorities for justice. Adhikari, who was elected on a Nepali Congress ticket, has complained with the Women and Children Cell of the Metropolitan Police Range, Jawalakhel. The cell is investigating the matter further, according to the police.
