The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the authorities concerned to probe whether the structures constructed at the banks of Phewa Lake are in the buffer zone and submit a report.
A joint bench of Justices Om Prakash Mihsra and Sapana Pradhan Malla hearing on a writ petition filed by advocate Khagendra Subedi has given the order, according to Deputy Spokesperson at the SC Nagendra Kalakheti.
“An order has been issued to study and submit report after hearing on the writ demanding construction of Park Village Resort by entrepreneur Karna Shakya be stopped for encroachment of Phewa Lake,” Kalakheti said.
He added that the SC has ordered the departments of land revenue, survey, environment and others to send representatives to the field to investigate and submit report.
