Works have resumed from Monday at Madhyapur Thimi Municipality which was closed in protest against armed attack on mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha.
Mayor Shrestha was attacked at his residence by miscreants on Saturday.
Madhyapur Thimi Mumicipality Surya Binayak Municipality and Changu Narayan Municipality had in a joint press release had announced that they would halt work at all the municipalities in Bhaktapur district from Sunday, demanding arrest of and action against the attackers.
However, the municipalities decided to resume work from Monday keeping in mind the inconvenience stopping work for long would cause to the general public, administrative officer of the municipality Kamal Gyawali said.
Meanwhile, the office-bearers of the District Coordination Committee, Bhaktapur and the people's representatives from the three municipalities in the district have handed over a memorandum to the Chief District Officer Drona Pokharel calling for booking the Mayor Shrestha's attackers and taking stern action against them.
