The Central Child Welfare Board (CCWB) is to take guardianship of 70 children (from all seven provinces) who are out of school and enroll them at schools this academic session.
According to Board executive director Tarak Dhital, it is taking guardianship of 10 children from each province as it wishes to support the government's ongoing school enrollment campaign aims to bring children deprived of school education to schools.
The Board has the solidarity to the ongoing school enrollment campaign launched from the government level, he said, adding that they would do the needful to identify those children deprived of education from the grass-root/ local level and facilitate them to go to schools.
The Board has called on all its district-level child welfare committees, other organisations working in the field of child rights and individuals to contribute to making the campaign successful.
Meanwhile, the Board has rescued 32 child workers from Kathmandu-Valley based public vehicles (bus, minibus, microbus and tempo) and others means of transport in the past two days.
Those child workers were rescued in course of the implementation of Child Labor (Prohibition and Regulation) Act-2056 BS (2000).
The CCWB is a statutory body established under Children's Act 2048 BS (1992) with overall responsibilities toward ensuring rights of children in Nepal.
