14 concrete bridges to be constructed on Beni-Korala road section

Fourteen concrete bridges are to be constructed on the Beni-Korala road section. Korala is the transit point on the Nepal-China border in Mustang district. The road section runs parallel to the Kaligandaki river. Presently, six bridges are under construction while of the eight remaining bridges, tenders have been called for some while some are in designing state and others have reached the stage of contract. Chief of the Kaligandaki Corridor Project Narendra Subedi said work is being carried out on the bridges with the goal of completing them in the coming 30 months. The 169-km long Beni-Jomsom-Korala road is currently being upgraded. Bailey bridges have been used currently and these bridges would be replaced by concrete bridges, Subedi said.
