Violent wind claims life, damages properties in Mahottari

A person was killed when a strong wind brought a tree crashing down at Bhangaha municipality-5 in Mahottari district on Tuesday evening. Identity of the person killed in Sitapur Dhatiyatol of the municipality is not confirmed yet. The pedestrian was killed after a tree that he was taking shelter crumbled and crushed him, Sub-Inspector Abadhlal Saha said. Likewise, the wind that occurred at 6:30 in the evening has demolished more than 100 houses in the Sitapur. Moreover, over 300 trees have crumpled in a forest owned by Rastriya Basic School at Ramnagar in Bhangaha-4. Similarly, the strong wind and rainfall in the district has caused a huge damage in the crops in other belts of the district. Police said that the power supply has been disrupted in many areas after the electric poles were crumbled following the winds.
