Illegal structures constructed on public land being demolished in Chitwan

The Ratnanagar municipality has started removing the structures including houses and sheds constructed by encroaching upon public land. The municipality has started demolishing such structures as part of its campaign of identifying and protecting the public land within its borders. In this connection, the municipality on Sunday pulled down the house of local businessman Kamal Chandra Khanal which was illegally constructed by encroaching public land. President of the Public Land Protection Committee Hari Kumar Shrestha said that the municipality has removed illegal structures constructed on 30 bigha of public land. Acting mayor of Ratnanagar municipality Bimala Duwadi said that the municipality will construct various facilities like bus park, eco-park, cultural village, public toilet, parking lot and resting sheds in those public land cleared of illegal property.
