The Carter Center has said more than 60 observers from 34 countries were observing the second phase of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections taking place in Nepal today.
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Dr Surakiart Sathirthai and former US Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Peter Worley are leading the election observers' team on behalf the Center.
The Carter Center election observation team observed the election process at the Vishwa Shanti polling station at Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur today.
When RSS asked the team leader how he found the election process at the polling center, the Thailand former Deputy Prime Minister Sathirthai said, "Now, we have been observing the election process. We will tell in detail later on."
Similarly, former US Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives, Peter Worley merely said that election helped strengthen democracy.
The voters were seen enthusiastically participating in the voting when the Center's high representatives were observing the voting.
