At least 56 police personnel including temporary police will be deployed in each polling station across the country on Thursday, the Nepal Police assured organizing a press conference at its headquarters on Wednesday.
Speaking during the press conference, Nepal Police Spokesperson DIG Manoj Neupane said 90 percent of 72,000 police personnel will be deployed on the ground while remaining 10 percent will be working for safety of the ballot boxes of the first phase of the elections to House of Representatives and State Assemblies. He assured there would be no compromises in security on the election day.
Meanwhile, at least 64,000 Nepal Army soldiers and 29,000 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel will also be mobilized. Police personnel will be in the innermost security ring whereas APF will be in the second and the NA personnel in the outermost security ring.
The second phase of elections is taking place in 45 districts on Thursday. The first round was held on November 26 in 32 districts.
