The police say Netra Bikram Chand has fled to India after search for him on charge of involvement in anti-election activities intensified.
He has entered India from the western part of the country in search of a safe place, according to sources at the Nepal Police headquarters. The police have arrested over 600 cadres of Chand led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) on charge of anti-election activities.
Addressing a press conference organized at the Nepal Police headquarters on Wednesday, DIG Manoj Neupane claimed the police have beefed up security by taking those involved in disruptive activities under control.
The police have also held 14 cadres of CK Raut on charge of anti-election activities in the plains. They have also held other 355 persons for on charge of anti-election activities in the plains.
The police have also recovered 2,188 sets of detonators and 577 pouches of blasting gelatin, and 61 pieces of weapons.
The police have also urged the voters to cast vote without any fear.
